Washington considers lifting the freeze on the Mehdi Army is threatening democracy and order in Iraq

Washington has dismissed the threat cleric Moqtada al-Sadr to lift the freeze on the activities of the Mahdi Army, a threat to democracy and political system in Iraq, a renewed openness to any request from Baghdad to extend the stay of its troops after the end of this year.
