Kaperoni Chat: Dinar Alert 4/8/11

[Kaperoni] Thanks everyone for coming to this weekends chat
[Kaperoni] i have lots to show you tonight
[Kaperoni] better get comfortable
[Kaperoni] OK, lets get this started.
[Kaperoni] Please no typing
[[Kaperoni] Thank you
[Kaperoni] Ok, This week was interesting regard the 3 remaining ministers.
[Kaperoni] We have heard for weeks, that they will fill the positions only to have them back out.
[Kaperoni] Here is an article quote that was interesting.
[Kaperoni] “According to Xuan Mohamed Taha told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), on Thursday, said that “an important meeting initiated by the coalition of Kurdish blocs will take place between the coalition and the Iraqi List and the National
[Kaperoni] Alliance on Saturday to resolve the security ministries in the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as well as discuss several political files stuck”.
[Kaperoni] Now we have seen those kinds of articles in the past. This next one is better as Mr. Gates visited Iraq…
[Kaperoni] “Baghdad, INN- US Defense Secretary Robert Gates harshly reprimanded Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki for his inaction to settle critical issues, sources close Maliki told INN Thursday.”
[Kaperoni] Now, it appears that he was stern with him…
[Kaperoni] “According to the sources, who asked not to be named, Gates, currently on a visit to Iraq, summoned Maliki for a private meeting at the US embassy in Baghdad on Thursday and Maliki left his office in a hurry without taking any one with him.”
[Kaperoni] And this quote..
[Kaperoni] “This was clear on Maliki’s face when came out of the meeting wiping sweat on his face with a handkerchief from his pocket, they added noting that Maliki did not say any word, he was just listening to Gates’s words.”
[Kaperoni] And..
[Kaperoni] “According to the same sources, Maliki also on Thursday received a phone call from US Vice President Joe Biden expressing Washington worries about Maliki’s plans and his inability to address critical issues in the country.”
[Kaperoni] Here is another quote from an article…
[Kaperoni] “According to Xuan Mohamed Taha told the Kurdish news agency (Rn), on Thursday, said that “an important meeting initiated by the coalition of Kurdish blocs will take place between
[Kaperoni] the coalition and the Iraqi List and the National Alliance on Saturday to resolve the security ministries in the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as well as discuss several political files stuck”.
[Kaperoni] And one more article makes this statement…
[Kaperoni] “Member of Parliament for the Kurdish coalition blocs Chuan Mohammed attributed the imbalance to the home of the differences between and within political blocs. He stressed the need to expedite the filling of the security ministries, pointing
[Kaperoni] to street pressure.”
[Kaperoni] I like that comment, clearly what we all feel, is true. That these protests are in fact, having an effect to expedite these reforms.
[Kaperoni] Now, here is something that concerns me…we have talked in the past about encouraging these clerics…specifically Al-Sadr. He is not good news for Iraq as he excites tension and animosity.
[Kaperoni] Now over the next few days will be a combination of celebration and protest. Celebration because it is the 8th anniversary of the toppling of the Saddam statue and in the eye of the Iraq, the begin of democracy.
[Kaperoni] We have to hope these protest remain civil asking for reforms rather than escalate to violence. These events fall right into Sadr when the GOI is not giving the people what they want. These events are giving Sadr momentum..
[Kaperoni] Here is a quote…
[Kaperoni] “Baghdad, INN- Sadrist Movement offices across Iraq are on alert in preparation for massive demonstration planned on April 9, prominent firgure from the movement said Thursday.
[Kaperoni] We intended to stage the demonstration in Baghdad and it will be the biggest in Iraq’s history, said Hazem Al Araji, member of Al Sadr Martyr Office.”
[Kaperoni] And another..
[Kaperoni] “Activating the role of the House of Representatives to follow up the issues of citizens and to speed up legislation of laws that affect the lives of many”
[Kaperoni] Here is a quote from an article pertaining to the celebration tomorrow (sat).
[Kaperoni] “We remember those difficult days moments of the war when we expect to the next phase of the lives of Iraqis, as it was) 9 in April 2003 days is not like the rest of the
[Kaperoni] events are still stuck in the minds of all Iraqis have been these events with the fall of the former regime and opened broad prospects for the Iraqis to a dignified life”
[Kaperoni] Now is there a better time to give these people what they have been asking for? IMO, there is no better time to release the RV.
[Kaperoni] My last chat I tried to triangulate the economic situation in Iraq. To show you the RV was needed sooner than later to get these reforms moving. That the Iraqi attempt to
[Kaperoni] change to a free-market economy is almost at a standstill due to the fact that they have not revalued the currency yet.
[Kaperoni] From the investment side of the budget (struggle with infrastructure such as water, electric, etc) to the implementation of tariffs (to stimulate manufacturing and agriculture within Iraq) to the ineffectiveness of the banking sector on a global basis.
[Kaperoni] This week we see new articles calling on the GOI to make these reforms. Here is a quote..
[Kaperoni] “Baghdad (news .. saw the leader of the rule of law, Khalid al-Asadi said Iraq today comes in the forefront of countries in the region stable. Asadi said (of the Agency news) “should Iraq to regain its position on the regional arena in particular, and
[Kaperoni] Favorable opportunity in this time when most countries in the region a state of protests and demonstrations to demand democratic change, which their predecessors in Iraq to him.”
[Kaperoni] “He said al-Asadi: Iraq is not a state marginal in the region, with its wealth and human potential to qualify to play a big role on the political map of the region.”
[Kaperoni] So you can see these articles are calling on the GOI to get these ministers filled and continue to implement the economic reforms which include the RV.
[Kaperoni] This week the National Investment Commission in Iraq also came out in full support…Here is their quote…
[Kaperoni] “He Araji “Following the adoption of this strategy by the National Investment Commission will work under all bodies of the investment in Iraq,” noting that “the Commission will exercise most of its business during the next two weeks at the headquarters of
[Kaperoni] the National Investment Commission in Baghdad a view to establishing a working mechanism to deal with the ministries, which owns the majority of land investment and that out paper work to facilitate an integrated action in the next phase. “
[Kaperoni] I find that quote interesting that they state they will do most of their work in the next two weeks considering the current economic situation in Iraq.
[Kaperoni] Here is another quote from that article…
[Kaperoni] “He pointed out that “the Committee will facilitate the investment process in Iraq by proposing amendments to the Investment Law, as well as out paper work to be agreed upon between
[Kaperoni] the investment organizations, and between the National Investment Commission with the ministries of possession the other hand, in order to launch the investment process a smooth and transparent “.
[Kaperoni] Another interesting statement…”launch the investment process.”
[Kaperoni] IMO that is pretty hard to do with toilet paper.
[Kaperoni] Another quote..
[Kaperoni] “He called Araji to “facilitate some of the complications of routine that will disable the investment process, particularly the way in which grant investment licenses and the complicated procedures associated with the approval of acquisition of land owner
[Kaperoni] ” pointing out that “the mission of the Main Committee which was formed in this stage is to reduce these episodes and confining ring one to facilitate the investment process. “
[Kaperoni] Lastly, this quote…
[Kaperoni] “The foreign companies had expressed fear of investing in Iraq, especially in light of the investment law, the current which was described by international companies
[Kaperoni] that do not protect their money and does not provide the suitable environment for the implementation of large projects in the country, as well as the lack of security and stability of some of the country’s provinces”
[Kaperoni] As my contacts in the business community have stated, this is very real. It is difficult now to get your profits out of Iraq…that quote above sums it up. The RV is needed. To resolve all these issues.
[Kaperoni] And finally, if there was any doubt that the CBI is going to revalue the currency, here is a quote from a article yesterday that an opinion/study-pros/cons piece clearly stating they are aware of the event.
[Kaperoni] Which is good to know that the CBI has done a great job informing the public as they stated they would back in Sept of 2010 prior to starting the process.
[Kaperoni] Here is the quote..
[Kaperoni] “Raised the proposal to delete the zeros of the Iraqi currency, which was adopted by the CBI, a sensation with government agencies and economic development in Iraq regarding the
[Kaperoni] extent of its implementation, and Alatharwalanekasat the Iraqi currency in the current circumstances faced by the Iraqi economy,”
[Kaperoni] The key here is the statement “which was adopted by the CBI”
[Kaperoni] Done
Rumor
