Minister of Commerce to discuss with the Korean Ambassador-Maliki's visit to Korea Expected

BAGHDAD (Iba) ... Research and Commerce Minister Hassan Babiker Khairallah with Korean Ambassador Suk Bum Park, the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and his delegation to South Korea in the coming days.

A statement from the Ministry of Commerce said that Babiker stressed the need for Iraq to the Korean expertise in the areas of reconstruction and investment is now invited to participate actively in the reconstruction and investment taking place in Iraq, whether through participation in construction projects or coordination with the private sector the fact that Iraq has become a safe country and stable in addition to its call to participate in the session of the Baghdad International Fair (38) the next.

He pointed to the possibility of registration offices for branches of Korean companies in Iraq through the creation of representatives of these companies in Iraq within those branches, through the Registrar of Companies at the Ministry to enable them to engage in a tender held by the ministry in particular and the ministries, institutions and other government bodies in general, which in turn will contribute in supplying the Iraqi economy every assistance to the tireless efforts made by Iraq to join the World Trade Organization.

He said the Korean ambassador stressed his country's desire to share the Korean companies in construction projects and investment, as well as the desire to demonstrate support for Iraq in its quest to join the WTO in the next stages after the provision by Iraq of all the required files.
He explained that the Ambassador said that he will organize meetings and visits to the Minister of Trade with a number of Korean businessmen and commercial and industrial companies interested in Korean affairs of Iraq during his visit to Korea within the government delegation, headed by the Prime Minister.
