A new 40,000 square meter compound will be taking over from satellite offices across southern Iraq 
Move One is pleased to announce that a complete restructuring and modernization of its Southern Iraq offices has begun. The first stage has been to centralize its Southern Iraq offices, Umm Qsar and Basra, into a single unified command and control compound set over more than 40,000 square meters. The new center will give Move One further enhanced levels of coordination between staff, agents and clients, reinforcing its position as the leading logistics company in Iraq.
The compound construction is nearing completion, additional personnel have been relocated to site and equipment, such as large delivery vehicles, forklifts, warehouse racking systems and other capital improvements are being added as necessary.
The new location is in Al Zubayr, approximately one kilometer east of Port Khor Al Zubayr road junction on Hwy 6. This site was chosen for its strategic proximity to the Zubayr and North and South Rumaila oil fields. The location also provides rapid access to Umm Qsar and Khor Az Zubayr sea ports, as well as Basra Airport and the Safwan border crossing from Kuwait to Iraq. This direct access to the transport infrastructure will mean that Move One will have an extremely rapid dispatch time across Iraq and into neighboring countries.
The difficulties of conducting operations in Iraq mean that both the facility and its staff will be well equipped to maximize safety and security. Craig Bailey, Move One’s South Iraq Manager, described the details of the safety measures, saying ”The compound perimeter and security will be to western standards, with one access point – an 8-meter-wide main gate, 3-meter cement T-walls, guard towers, CCTV and armed security personnel.” When asked about future plans for the compound, Craig commented “There is an additional 20,000 square meters of contiguous laydown available for future growth. We will be making continuous improvements and will adjust the usage of the available space to our clients’ needs.”
