United Nations: We Will Support Quick-Impact Projects in Iraq

Erbil, April 20 (Rn) – The United Nations Mission in Iraq on Wednesday, announced that it will support quick-impact projects in Iraq, which includes planning for water resources management initiatives and promote a culture of peace and raising environmental awareness and community-based initiatives in the field of water and sanitation and forums of women and youth, according to a statement them.

According to the statement received by the Kurdish news agency (Rn) announced today that “The United Nations called for interested parties to submit offers small-scale projects within the areas above that the cost of the project not exceed $ 25,000 and not more than the implementation period of three months.”
He explained that “the Project Review Committee with the mission of the United Nations to help Iraq (UNAMI) will study projects that meet the minimum standards after a representative of the mission an initial visit to the project site” .. “noting that” the Commission will decide what projects to be funded ” .
The statement noted that “there is no guarantee through which the selection of projects submitted, even if they meet the minimum standards” .. he said, adding that “the applicant will be informed in writing of the decision of the Committee may request the Committee to make some adjustments on the project before making a final decision.”
He stressed that “in case the selection of the project executing agency will be asked to sign a memorandum of understanding with the mission of the United Nations to help Iraq (UNAMI) to be on its way grant funding to two or more stages after achieving mission success and the continued implementation of the project.”
