World Bank survey begins survey to support the private sector in Iraq


BAGHDAD (Iba) .. started the World Bank survey of a survey of private sector companies in Iraq, aims to evaluate business and investment climate, and begins to meet with officials in about a thousand companies operating in the sectors of industry and services.

The World Bank announced a program expected to be implemented in the country, and includes the implementation of 26 projects and investment to provide technical assistance at a cost of about $ 954 million include the development of governance and the private sector and financial reforms, banking and insurance services and improving basic infrastructure.
 
The source said an official with the World Bank that the strategy to be implemented include working to stimulate the capacity to implement key projects in infrastructure and accelerate, especially water and electricity, and the reduction of unemployment, and activating the private sector and help to complete important projects.
 
 
And the transfer of the bank manager in the Middle East and Iraq, the Pacific Arab saying that the diversification of the economy of Iraq through support of projects and the private sector has become the most prominent objectives of the World Bank in Iraq in the near future, stressing that the Iraqi economy can not grow through the dependence on the sale of oil globally.
 
He pointed out that the World Bank is working to develop the industrial, agricultural and tourism sectors as they are able to meet a number of requirements for economic growth, especially the elimination of unemployment and increasing fiscal revenues. (End)
