Iraqi government announces the formation of a committee to search for the missing after the year 2003

Baghdad, April 20 (Rn) – The Iraqi government announced, Wednesday, for the Commission of a high level of research and investigation for missing persons from 2003 till now.
A spokesman for the Baghdad operations command Maj. Gen. Qassim Atta told a news conference held the Office of the Commander in Chief of the armed forces inside the Green Zone and attended by the correspondent of news agency Kurdistan (Rn) “Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki ordered the formation of high-level committee to research and investigate the fate of missing persons from 2003 to now, “noting that” the Committee will start its operation from next Sunday to complete its work within 30 days. “
Atta explained that “the Committee will be chaired by the Director Office of the Adjutant General of the Armed Forces Lt. Farouk al-Araji and the membership of the Ministry of Defence and Interior and the Ministry of National Security and the Ministry of Human Rights, Justice and the Supreme Judicial Council and two anti-terrorism and the Iraqi intelligence services in addition to the Baghdad Operations Command.”
He added, “it was limited to the allocation of days with missing in all provinces,” noting that “Baghdad has adopted since more than 3 months of receipt of applications in accordance with Article 20, which provides for compensation with the missing.”
He accused Atta “views unnamed political politicizing the issue and turn it from a humanitarian to a political saying that” some parties are trying to politicize this file by issuing statements that it is assume this issue, “waving that” this file from the jurisdiction of the government, one of the follow up actions Aladaraip and legal for Missing Persons. “
