Oil Minister Abdul-Karim Allaibi, on Wednesday, said that more than 45 investment company eligible for the third oil licensing round, which will be wider than the previous rounds because of improved security and political situation in Iraq.
The Allaibi told (Voices of Iraq) that the third oil licensing round will feature a bigger turnout and wider than the previous rounds, attributing the cause to the improved security and political situation in Iraq, noting that more than 45 investment company eligible for the third round of licensing.
He added that there is a new project to develop the oil port of Basra, to raise the level of exports to more than four and a half million barrels of oil a day, noting that investment companies are aware that there are more than 25 million mines in Iraq, mostly deployed in the southern region, noting that Iraq has begun to lift these mines by competent companies to facilitate the work of companies in those areas.
