Loy Norrix graduate Ben Lando discusses Donald Trump's Iraq comments on 'Fox and Friends'

Ben Lando, a Loy Norrix and Western Michigan University grad, was on the TV show "Fox and Friends" this morning to discuss comments made by Donald Trump on increasing American involvement in Iraq to secure oil.

"If its me — we take the oil," Trump says in the clip. "In the old days when you take a country, you take a country."

Lando is the Iraq bureau chief for The Iraq Oil Report, a website covering business, political and security news in the Middle East country.

"What he is saying frankly scares me," Lando said on the show. "It increases instability in the street ... and feeds into a conspiracy theory (that) we are there for the oil."

Lando added that Trump's comments show "that he doesn't know too much about Iraq."

Trump has been in the national media recently surrounding a possible presidential run in 2012. He has been vocal for President Barack Obama to produce a birth certificate to prove he was born in the United States.

Lando has had articles published in publications such as Time magazine. He also freelanced for the Kalamazoo Gazette.
