Deputy Iraqi demands for the survival of the U.S. military in Kirkuk until the application of Article 23 Constitutional


The MP said the Iraqi List, Yassin al-Obeidi said the security situation in Kirkuk, requires the survival of U.S. combat troops, to maintain the security of the province, while for the balance, according to Article 23 of the Constitution.
Obeidi said in a press statement that it should be the Iraqi forces to maintain security in Kirkuk, but that the current situation in the province, will require U.S. forces to remain until the completion of the balance and resolve the outstanding issues which according to Article 23 of the Iraqi Constitution.
Obeidi said it was no substitute for the U.S. military to maintain security in Kirkuk and other disputed areas, to ensure lasting stability there
