In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Finance .. Economic Committee of the Cabinet held a meeting to discuss a range of economic issues
The Committee for Economic Affairs of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers at its ninth session under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Nuri Shaways Rose and the presence of the Minister of Finance Dr. Rafie al-Issawi and other officials in the Iraqi government.
The Committee discussed the important topics, including the proposed pricing of wheat and barley and recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture on preventing the importation of a number of agricultural crops, vegetables, and import others, as market needs while ensuring support for farmers of Iraq and protect domestic production.
The Committee also discussed the issue of the conclusions on the reform of the ration card system and improve the quality of the materials processed and limiting the distribution to the poor and low-income and proceeded with the Economic Commission to the formation of a higher technical committee competent shall take charge and determine the strategy of food to Iraq for the coming years and the Commission submitted a proposal to the Council of Ministers regarding the scheduling of debt owed by the peasants and farmers until 2003, and was also studying the possibility of the companies Ministry of Industry and Minerals to provide the ration card items through the facility and its laboratories, especially the subjects of sugar and cooking oil.
