Let this weekend play out folks, for one Check has had a family/friend emergency and our prayers and thoughts are with him. The CC was excellent but most of you heard what you wanted to hear as well and the demands need to cease for information, the insensitivity and self centered attitudes have been abhorrent on here as of late. Providing information and being spoon fed are two different animals, and even those of who are spoon fed are still hungry and like a screaming baby are demanding more food, well I got news for ya…..DO SOME RESEARCH YOURSELF.
Steve and Check and Tony (and others) have done an amazing job of keeping things together and providing information to all of us and breakneck speed, and in case you haven’t noticed lately before it even happens.
The primary guest on the CC also stated that “it’s a belief” it would occur this weekend, not that it “would”. How many times have we been through this? Too many to miss the small print that’s for sure. Wording in a politicians world is not that complex, you just have to pay attention to it. Most of us as he said think logically, for us on these types of forums we hear what we want to hear and read what we want to read….true? Of course it is…how many times have we refuted negative posts that are opposite of what we want to believe?
Also mentioned was that we may not see anything until Monday or Tuesday….give Check and Steve some slack and let things play out, nobody “on here” has control over what is happening over there, no matter who you bash or how many negative comments you can throw out there it’s not going to make it occur any faster. The devils advocate comment by JoeP was one that needs to be acknowledged, today look for the Gazette Article, and tomorrow start checking Forex, unless something else comes up before that, those should be the confirmations we’re looking for. Still the VP seat left on the CIA list of leaders for Iraq….bear that in mind.
When information like this comes out regardless of your will to believe, take it with a grain of salt, whether it’s true or not, it’s Iraq and most of us with any experience in dealing with this country know for a fact that nothing appears to go as planned, I’m feeling pretty sure that they are working their plan to their benefit and know exactly what they’re doing. They are a different culture folks, they are predominantly Muslim and do not bend to Western Ways for the most part. They know they are in the eyes of the world at this time, and have the world’s economy in the palm of their hand….so if that were you. wouldn’t you make sure you had all your ducks in a row? I’m thinking yes you would, of course to benefit “your own people”.
Right now things are heated outside the wire so to speak, there have been multiple attacks as of late, and old “new” players have come onto the ball field as well from the West of Iraq(HB) as well as the return of Muqtada Al Sadr, trust me this return is a big one and the timing could not have been any worse. I was 20 miles south of this man and his so called “1,000,000 Man Army” which was really only about a 100,000 but still created considerable havoc.
These things have to be dealt with as well, there are only 24 hours in a day. I know when I worked over there I wished there had been 36 hrs in a day to get the things done that I needed to. Our folks are taking some punishment over there, God Bless them and keep them safe at that, not to mention the Iraqi’s that are also taking punishment. From the call I got last night there are some new weapons being used against our bases that I’ve not experienced in the past myself.
For the New Posters on here, please pay attention to where you’re posting, put the post in the correct thread category on the forum, so many have been putting their comments in the “Getting Started” category….just because it says getting started doesn’t mean that’s where you START posting…lol. I’ve moved many threads from there to the appropriate category. With that, the last 48 hrs on this forum has been particularly nasty with some of the comments coming out. Many are stressed and played out to the end to the point of losing their sensibility in dealing with other folks. Just because you’re behind a monitor and ticked off does not give you the right to take your frustrations out on others.
PLEASE BE PATIENT AND LET THE SITUATION IN IRAQ PLAY OUT.
