Iraq-Kuwait committee meeting March 28th; Kuwait FM assures to help Iraq emerge from Ch VII sanctions

For his part, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, his country’s keenness to develop relations with Kuwait, said during a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart that Iraq is in the political process, no longer a country of one man, in the same nation, and class, adding that Iraq today is a unified country, and its resolution uniform, and has its institutions and services in various critical areas, and Iraq today is not like Iraq at the time of the previous dictatorship, does not risk its security and Aiatdi on others.
He stressed that after the completion of security, we want to solve all the problems left behind by the previous regime, particularly with regard to relations with the brotherly countries, namely the State of Kuwait, it is not in our interest to the survival of these problems, we want to finish this, because we are brothers and neighbors, and we must end all outstanding matters, It is now on the way to a solution, and there is a joint committee of specialists will begin to solve these problems as soon as possible.
For his part, Kuwaiti Prime Minister said that the previous phase is over, and we are now in a new phase of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and neighbors, and if there were difficulties we face, we have to solve it through peaceful means, and the Joint Committee will be competent to find solutions as soon as possible.
He said Sheikh Nasser Al-Iraq congratulate the lifting of international sanctions, and we stress the importance of leaving under (lifting) Chapter VII, and start joint-venture relations in border areas and oil and other economic fields.
And promised to visit in a timely manner is the first of its kind for senior Kuwaiti official since the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait during the era of former president Saddam Hussein in 1990, it is also the first at this level since 1989 when the late Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah Al Sabah visited Baghdad.
