The President of the National Commission for Investment Sami Raouf Al-Araji, according to a statement issued by the Commission during his meeting with the Minister of Economy of South Korea desire to strengthen ties of cooperation between the two sides through the implementation of South Korean companies large investment projects in the country.
He praised the expertise and the economic potential of large companies owned by South Korea, and Iraq’s need for such expertise for the advancement of industrial and agricultural sectors, energy, housing, transport, communications and others. Araji and: “The National Investment Commission is currently negotiating with a number of South Korean companies to contribute to the implementation of part of a project to build one million housing units in all provinces of the country, which reached the negotiations to an advanced stage will culminate during the next few months, the direct implementation of the project.” Araji said: “The National Organization is ready to provide all the facilities and the safeguards guaranteed by the Investment Law No. 13 of 2006, as amended, the South Korean companies and other companies wishing to enter the process of investment, stressing that there is a way selective minutes followed by the national selection of companies implementing the investment projects” .
For his part, South Korean minister said that Iraq is a rich country and enjoy the wealth and natural resources make it fertile ground for investment in various sectors.
